Born and raised in South Philadelphia, I grew up in a hard working Catholic Italian family. My parents emigrated from the South of Italy and instilled in my sisters and me a very strong faith foundation. It was this that inspired my active participation in our church, which eventually led me to cantor and to join the school choir. This became a very special and important ministry that I still carry with me today.
I continue to be an active participant in my choirs and as a cantor at Mass. Music has always been a great love of mine and has helped me grow through different life experiences. I have always been drawn to joyfully sharing the gift of music with others, creating authentic connections, and leaving them with the reassurance of God’s presence. In 2012, I released a CD entitled, “Blessings: A Collection of Psalms.” The creations of this CD arose from my great struggle with depression over a period of 8 years. The only light that I experienced during that time was when I was singing, particularly these Psalms, everyday and every week at Mass.
Gradually, hope started to take root inside me as I found my way back to a gentle sense of peace and comfort. Trusting in God’s warmth helped me find my way out of the dark. Looking back, I truly believe that no struggle is ever in vain. God used those difficult moments to draw me closer to Him, and my deepest hope now is that my music offers that same healing, solace, and inspiration to to others on their own faith journeys. You can hear clips of my cd below.
